I've been fighting this thing for 32 years. "Overnight" success doesn't happen overnight for most people. The media delivers this bad news and perpetuates lies making you believe that you are a failure because you didn't see the same results from your efforts.
Hey, a kid in 2014 made $300,000 and he's 16 and he did it from his cell phone in class. Does that mean you can't make it because you're 32 and haven't made more than $30,000 in one year? -- no, it just means you need to watch that kid and see if you can learn from him. Every one of these "overnight" success stories has hundreds and thousands of success stories that took years and years to create.
Many studies have been done showing that the hitting $1 billion with a startup company is 1 in 10,000. Mark Zuckerberg, the guy who created Facebook, took years of development and a couple project names and had a yearly net loss of $3.63 million before becoming an "overnight" success. Steve Jobs took over 20 years to become an "overnight" billionaire. Look, the fact is you won't get the kind of success you dream of without massive, massive amounts of action. Get a planner and write your goals down when you wake up in the morning and before you go to sleep at night.
I've done over 700 interviews in the past 32 years. And every time I went out to sell door-to-door I was doing a presentation and I didn't get paid for most of them -- I've done over 11,000 unpaid speaking gigs and nearly 2,000 paid speaking gigs. Success doesn't come from being unmotivated. You must have a need for the marketplace to validate your contributions. I was driven more by my need to contribute on a level equal to my potential, not just where I was at. The successful don't lower their targets when things get tough. Rather, they raise expectations for themselves because they see the difference they can make with their families, company, community and charities.
Try sending out 5,000 newsletters to an audience of hundreds of thousands keeping an average open rate of 26 percent when the national average is 11 percent. That doesn't come from one night of studying sales masters, knocking on one door, or making one phone call. I've written and contributed over 11,000 articles to Entrepreneur, INC, Huffington Post, Business Insider, Wells Fargo, AMEX, plus my own platforms and social media accounts.
Massive Action. That is the only way to have an "overnight" success.

And throughout all of that I have received an immeasurable amount of criticism and ridicule from haters. If you are rocking, the haters are coming your way and you must be prepared. If you aren't killing it the way you should be, the haters have already gotten to you and you may not even know it.
10X your life, 10X your action, 10X your goals -- once you start living a 10X life you will be on your way to success.
