Greg Dalton is Vice President of The Commonwealth Club of California and founder of Climate One http://www.climate-one.org, a leadership dialogue that strengthens consensus around strong action on climate change. Drawing on The Commonwealth Club’s century-long tradition as a non-partisan public forum, Climate One engages leaders from business, government, advocacy groups and academia in private dialogues that seek to transcend conventional thinking and boundaries. It also holds public discussions on sustainable energy that are broadcast on The Club’s national radio program and international podcast. Greg founded Climate One in 2007 after traveling to the Russian Arctic on a global warming symposium with academic experts and journalists.


Greg previously served for six years as The Commonwealth Club’s COO, expanding its content distribution through deals with media partners such as XM Satellite Radio, ABC 7 TV, Fora.tv and Cumulus Radio. He came to The Commonwealth Club after a career as a journalist. As International Editor at the Industry Standard magazine, he managed bureaus in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Buenos Aires, and helped establish local-language editions in ten countries. He also worked the international desk at The Associated Press, covered the early days of the Internet at InformationWeek, and wrote about China’s rise for the South China Morning Post as a correspondent in Beijing and Vancouver, Canada. His media career started in high school as station manager of KSPB FM in Pebble Beach, California.
