NEW DELHI-- US Secretary of State for South Asia Richard Boucher, after meeting the Indian defense minister Shiv Shankar Menon, spoke to the media, saying that Pakistan has done well so far in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks, banning the Jamat-u-Dawa and apprehending the people related to banned groups.
But Boucher added that Pakistan will have to do more, and that a long term policy is essential.
He also said the US is doing its best to deescalate the tensions between the two nuclear rivals, Pakistan and India.
Tensions were high again after the confirmation Wednesday by Pakistan defense advisor Mehmood Ali Durrani that captured Mumbai terrorist Ajmal Qasab is a Pakistani national, though no official citizenship records had been found.
Pakistan again reiterated its pledge to assist Indian authorities in the probe of the Mumbai terrorist attacks.

Highly probable.
And what about the 9 dead terrorists? The Indian Muslims have refused to bury them.
At this rate, we have about 378 days to go.
You have GOT to be chitting me.
What has Pakistan done to deserve US praise? For firing NSA Chief Durrani for speaking the truth about Ajmal Kasab?
In that part of the world there is little in terms of ID's, leaky as a sieve...Wh at? you think he needed a passport? Even if they find anything, it is really easy to bury. He was working for and promoting the agenda of a faction in Pakistan. That much is accepted as fact, so let's move on past this monumental bit of stonewalling and tell us what the government of Pakistan is going to do about it.
Thats called spinning!!!

Give this matter a rest! Kasab is Pakistani!! PERIOD!
Obviously their book keeping system must be a real mess; it took them 42 days to figure out (after umpteen denials) that Ajmal is a Pakistani, now I wonder how long it would be before the Pak. govt. locates his citizenship record.... may be after a few months we will be told the termites ate it....
