Hans van der Boom (1957) is head of communication for the Dutch ‘Humanitas Foundation’, a company active in field of healthcare and housing for the elderly in the greater Rotterdam area, The Netherlands.
He is a long time fan of Anne McCaffrey and founder and owner of the Pern Museum & Archives, an Anne McCaffrey-dedicated website, since 1998.
He became involved with Anne McCaffrey at her erstwhile forumboard, web chat and website ‘The Worlds of Anne McCaffrey’ and served her as moderator, admin, webmaster and archivist. Hans was not only active in running the famous Kitchen Table Bulletin board but involved in running the forumboards ‘Anne McCaffrey Fans Forum’ and ‘A Meeting of Minds’.
He is co-author, editor and publisher of the book ‘Forty Years of Pern’, a collection of essays by Anne’s fans and (co-)authors, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the publication of the first Dragonriders of Pern story, "Weyr Search" in 1967.
