Why Does Rupert Define This as News Only in Britain?

stumbleupon :Why Does Rupert Define This as News Only in Britain?   digg: Why Does Rupert Define This as News Only in Britain?   reddit: Why Does Rupert Define This as News Only in Britain?   del.icio.us: Why Does Rupert Define This as News Only in Britain?

I guess, in a way, it's proof of the oft-derided claim that Rupert Murdoch really doesn't control his "classy" media -- The Times of London, the Sunday Times, The Australian, now the WSJ -- the way he does his trashy ones -- the Brit and Australian tabloids, the NY Post. But his Times has been hard on a story I only started paying attention to thanks to a commenter on an earlier post: the Sibel Edmonds story. Last Sunday's Times advanced the story substantially: responding to a Freedom of Information Act request for a named file (one which Edmonds, a former FBI translator, says would support her story of American nuke materials making their way to Pakistan and elsewhere through Turkish intermediaries), the FBI denied that the file existed. The Sunday Times, though, says it has an internal document indicating that the file does indeed exist.

The theft of US nuclear secrets, the diverting of them to Pakistan (and, according to Edmonds, Saudi Arabia), the involvement of Israel in the scheme -- all of these would justify as jaw-droppingly newsworthy in a rational journalistic universe. Clearly, that's not where we live.

Come on now. Why should we worry ourselves over some trivial little "nucler" (Thanks "W") secrets getting stolen, or should we say "misplaced" into the hands of people that are helping us "fight the WAR ON TERROR"?? Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Isreal???? They are our friends and are helping the US "fight 'em over there, so we don't have to fight 'em over here".
So, here's what we're going to do. We are going to suddenly become "concerned" about the financial well being of the "working people". We'll call it an "economic stimulus" plan and cut all you "good, hard workin' Americans" a check!!! Now take your "hush money" and move on like good little citizens.
Oh yeah, while you're at it, forget you ever heard about those pesky little lost papers!!
So, does that about sum it up!!!

Is it just Fox news or has this story appeared on CNN or MSNBC?
HARRY RESPONDS: Not that I know of.

Thanks Harry and thanks Huffpost for keeping this story alive. Shame on the establishment (the government, the MSM, etc,) for covering up this scandal.

Original article January 6, from The Sunday Times entitled "For sale: West's deadly nuclear secrets".

Here's ticklers from that article - 'The Turks and Israelis had planted "moles" in military and academic institutions which handled nuclear technology. Edmonds says there were several transactions of nuclear material every month, with the Pakistanis being among the eventual buyers. "The network appeared to be obtaining information from every nuclear agency in the United States," she said.'

'They were helped, she says, by the high-ranking State Department official who provided some of their moles - mainly PhD students - with security clearance to work in sensitive nuclear research facilities. These included the Los Alamos nuclear laboratory in New Mexico, which is responsible for the security of the US nuclear deterrent.'[1]

Two weeks after the original article, The Times followed up with "FBI denies file exposing nuclear secrets theft - The FBI has been accused of covering up a file detailing government dealings with a network stealing nuclear secrets".

More ticklers - 'She says the FBI was investigating a Turkish and Israeli-run network that paid high-ranking American officials to steal nuclear weapons secrets. These were then sold on the international black market to countries such as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.'

'One of the documents relating to the case was marked 203A-WF-210023. Last week, however, the FBI responded to a freedom of information request for a file of exactly the same number by claiming that it did not exist. But The Sunday Times has obtained a document signed by an FBI official showing the existence of the file.'

'Edmonds believes the crucial file is being deliberately covered up by the FBI because its contents are explosive. She accuses the agency of an "outright lie".' [2]

The Sible Edmonds story is merely a facet of what will be revealed as the entire myth of a free press and "informed citizens" unravels.

Time to wake up from a dream where everyone knew what to think, how to live and what to do.

We're not merely apathetic in the dull sense of the word. We are numb with future shock in a deep aspect of our collective soul.

Keep the fire burning, maties, all over the world. We're gonna need each other's support.
