I took it nice and slow for my first Marc Jacobs at The Armory experience, hitting the designer's Marc by Marc Jacobs runway show on Tuesday afternoon. I'm no stranger to the fashion God's lower price lined -- I own a fall coat, several dresses and a mesh Jacobs by Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs in collaboration with Marc Jacobs for Marc by Marc Jacobs backpack -- all of which were priced around $200, except for the backpack. That was $20.
And let me tell you: there's something particularly satisfying about watching duds you know you can afford whizz down the runway -- no Oscar-worthy gowns, no sheer blouses that require a pile of tank tops or a level of audacity I have yet to achieve, no super-high stilettos that I'd have to pair with knee pads. Marc By was what I'd like to refer to as a fashion reality check. One that I'll definitely check out when the collection hits stores.
