I am NOT Gay.
Larry Craig isn't gay. Thank god cuz we don't really want him to be. Ick. Now that he has told the country that he isn't gay in a press conference, I am so relieved.
I don't want him to be gay because he is such a pathetic figure. Bearing his outrage but not his shame before the cameras today. Fine Senator. Don't be gay. There are lots of people who don't identify as gay but DO have sex with guys (or women) sometimes. But those people usually don't have the power to pursue discriminatory laws against gays and lesbians or promote hostile viewpoints towards us in the halls of Congress. We all have enough information about how hypocritical it would be if someone like Senator Craig were to actually BE gay and vote in such an anti-gay manner. I won't bother making that point since I frankly don't think voting to hurt people is justified no matter what your sexual orientation.
Ironically on the LGBT blogs and "insider lists" today there was a huge discussion about whether or not Senator Craig should garner some sympathy from the community because of the historic antipathy that exists towards police entrapment methods against, particularly, gay men.
But seeing his performance, I have lost any notion of sympathy. The guy practically SPIT it out that he wasn't gay. Because if he WAS gay, then that would somehow explain his publicly lewd behavior.
Like I said, ick.

I want to share something with all of you. I am as straight as one can be. 100% purely heterosexual white male married with kids. A retired cop. I worked for and with gay people, both male and female. It has never bothered me a bit. I have never been the target of any sexual advances from a gay person. From some straight females, yes. I have never felt uncomfortable around gay people. As matter of fact, through the years I have learned to respect so many of them because of the personal strength they have exhibited in having to live a life among people like our dear senator. I usually don't write with my comments, but behavior such as his is outrageous in our society. I am sure he will testify next to not having a drop of African, Asian or Hispanic blood in his veins.

thats what im talking about...the RWN's all apparently believe the laws, moral family values apply to everyone BUT them. this, to me, clearly demonstrates the attitude that they hold "we the people" to a higher standard than they hold themselves. they must have wonderful souls, Christian souls indeed to punish others for behavior they hold sacred and practice in their private lives and all the while their constituents are damned to hell for the same thing. well, i believe many tried to warn their constituents about many of "them" and their double (cheating lying) standards. but, hell...wtf do WE know????

I am the most hetrosexual person I know. Yet,I beleave descrimination of Any kind is un American.As a young man I was hit on all the time by Gays and never felt theatened,just amused. Hey,it's Just Sex! I don't find Gay Sex attractive to Me,but never condem those who do.If a Man wants to Marry a goat and the goat is willing and signs the papers,who am I to say No?
Larry Craig is not gay, but his BOYFRIEND and the other men he has sex in public bathrooms with are FLAMING GAY!
Ahhhh so many unrelated thoughts come to mind...
1- Until the Supreme Court struck down sodomy laws someone in Idaho could go to prison for life if convicted of homosexual conduct;
2- I agree he's not "gay", he is what AIDS educators call "a man who has sex with men";
3- I still believe that a "homosexual" is sexually attracted to men but some one who is "gay" celebrates it;
4- My friend Brian suggested that the Senator could use "Restless Leg Syndrome" as a defense.
Even in that so-called press conference yesterday, Craig continued his gay bashing, ferociously. He's a most unpleasant character when he speaks on the Senate floor too and I hope that the Repug leadership forces him to resign. I read that they were furious at his ''blindsiding'' them and as he would run again anyway in '08, I don't think they want him darkening their door any longer.
It may seem strange to you or I, but I think he may actually believe this crap. According to him, being gay is bad, and he isn't bad. Just because he likes to have sex with men should have nothing to do with it! Just like believing in family values has nothing to do with whether Vitter has a prostitute on the side. They divide themselves up so much that even they start to believe the lies....
he reminds me of Mr. Garrison from South Park who repeatedly yelled, "I'm not gay!"
even when he was hiding in the mountains, you could hear him yelling it from miles away... and it was no more believable than Craig's protestations are...
Surely people MUST see the republican party by this time as nothing but a pack of fools, liars, hypocrits, thieves and moral whores who have wrought havoc with all that is decent in the world. bushit calls himself a CHRISTIAN!!! If Christ had recently died, the earth around his grave would register on the Richter scale with the writhings of his soul on being contaminated by the statement that anyone as evil and stupid as bush would dare say he(bush) was a follower and believer. I read the postings and wonder why these same sentiments are not in every newspaper in the country. We need to make our voices heard, protests all seem to swept under the rug. Get in touch with Keith Olbermann and Chris Mathews, tell these super-high-profile men to get more time with those in the race who ARE NOT the front-runners but who have the best ideas and the most brains IN THE PUBLIC EYE. Only by getting rid of the slimy, maggot-ridden, spineless dogs now occupying positons of power will we get our country back. The Democrats are not lily-white-and-pure but the the rotteness of all things republican is spreading its stench and contaminating everything this nation USED to stand for. I have many gay friends and have watched their struggle to obtain the rights (mostly financial, but medical and personal as well) the rest of us take for granted for over 40 years, but this kind of two-facedness exposes the fact that their suffering has been contrived to make their lives more difficult than life already is.
Votes are not about hurting Gays. They are about preserving a viable nation. Any nation, not just this one is based on the family. Without strong familys a nation cannot long survive.
Liberals support homosexuality but also are allowing Muslims to have more and more influence in this country. If and when Muslims gain enough power, they will start killing homosexuals.That is what their religion tells them to do. TAKE HEED.
