Carlsbad, CA -- Tonight at the "All Things Digital" conference sponsored by the Wall Street Journal, Rupert Murdoch -- Chairman of News Corp, new WSJ owner, and longtime torchbearer for conservative politics -- said this about Barack Obama: "He is a rock star. It's fantastic" "I love what he is saying about education." "I don't think he will win Florida.....but he will win in Ohio and the election". "I am anxious to meet him." "I want to see if he will walk the walk."
About the presumptive Republican nominee, Murdoch said, "McCain is a friend of mine. He's a patriot. But he's unpredicatble. Doesn't seem to know much about the economy. He has been in Congress a long time, and you have to make a lot of compromises. So what's he really stand for?... I think he has a lot of problems."
Here is the video of Murdoch's appearance at the All Things Digital Conference:

You don't get to Rupert Murdoch's position unless you have a keen sense for which ships are sinking and which are steaming ahead.
What we are seeing is a demonstration of those skills.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Be afraid of what? Should we be afraid of the fact that it looks like "we the people" just may take our government back. The only people who are afraid are the Republicans. Are you one of them?
Afraid when Murdoch, the very embodiment of monopolistic trash media, says nice things about Obama. What is Murdoch's game?
Bygolly you should check out profiles before launching attacks. Sistermoon is no republican.
Sistermoon, I was thinking the same thing. What's Murdoch up to? Yeah, we should be afraid. This is the same guy who is the boss of Sean "The Hate" Hannity and Bill "Twist the Facts" O'Lielly. Something smells fishy.
Rupert Murdoch Says Obama Will Win,he do not mention he want to be a winner too. .ketupa.ne t/murdoch1 .htmh1.htm.
Being an Entrepreneur he we want to grab the Obama train before is too late
as an entrepreneur he weighted all the options before such comments, his Empire
on America is complicated matters to us, to explain later his ties with the actual administration.
already he express,Obama is a rock star,McCain will be defeated, his desire to meet Obama,
Murdoch knows he is hot water, not personally, his propaganda machine *PARROTING*
Republican ideas, war, his move is out of desperation to pander the next President of the USA
regardless who might be,on this case Obama,as we all know under Bush ,Murdoch expanded
his control of the America media and the http://www
His(Murdoch) control of the media on America has been almost one side or leaning to right,
appeasing Obama, congress now, on his mind will a soft cushion 2008.
The Murdoch's of the world always play both sides of the fence. His sudden interest in meeting Obama is nothing more than a signal that the primary campaign is virtually over, and no matter which candidate wins he wants in their pocket.
I just don't believe Barack will play politricks.
So does this mean that Murdoch will call off his attack dogs at Faux News?
Obama Didn't campaign in Michigan or Florida because , ?? well there was nothing in it for him so he wasn't going to waste his time OR money on people who didn't count ( as in deligates ) . Barack Husein Obama is running to get his name in history books. No real effective past , no cohesive policies , no real vision of the future except the one of him as the leader of the world. He is like any other 'Little Man" who dreamed big and used his power of hypnotic speaking to draw people to him by promising them the 'Dream" to be part of something so special. Why do fools fall for the enigmatic, elusive, and evasive cult like leader every time only to get burned badly. It is the third time in 8yrs that american morons are buying the BS
Yea we much rather follow a warmonger that tilts at windmills or WMD's. Statements like this one gives insight into what this country will always be like if we DO NOT fix or Education system. People who state blanket falsehoods, that they parrot from places like, say, FOX NEWS and never bother to double check the info before they take it to heart.

Obama didn't campaign in these states because he and all of the other candidates signed a pledge NOT TO.
So I will assume that the rest of your Analysis is equally uninformed, biased and irrelevant.
"So I will assume that the rest of your Analysis is

This is what I love about Abaminations who don't know WTF they are talking about. They are just ditto heads who blow smoke out their Arse, parroting what some other misinformed person has tried to make nonObamabot think is true. I see this a lot on these posts. It must come from all that koolaid producing brain edema.
...
sed-on-the -campaign- trail form. To the voter, it should be more important that the candidate have a strong set of goals and a realistic general idea of how to achieve them. The actual details are best tackled when the winner is sitting in the Oval Office and is pulling the strings. One resource that is not scarce in Washington (despite what we are told) is intellect -- as long as the top guy has the right idea, there exists an army of smart individuals who can work out the nuts and bolts of practically any goal set in front of them.
NOBODY campaigned in either state because ALL of the candidates signed a pledge promising that they wouldn't. Plain and simple.
Obama can be criticized for a number of things, but lack of a concrete vision of America's future is certainly not one of them.
Regarding policy, even the most well-laid and substantive plans are worthless if they aren't enacted. It is unrealistic to expect any policies drawn up by the candidates prior to taking office to be implemented in 100% as-adverti
Sorry Obama ran loads of commercials on CNN in Florida. I saw them and sent notes to HRC's Florida Chair when it happened. Obama's answer. He checked with the chair of the South Carolina Democratic Party ( a supporter ) who said it was OK. WHAT ??? If that was Hillary the transfixed media would have laughed her into oblivion. " She would do anything to win." ...." Playing fast and loose with the rules" , " can't trust her". etc. Talk about party rules. The party made the rule about campaigning in Florida. Wouldn't it have been appropriate for the issue to be decided by the head of the Democratic party or Florida Democratic party instead of the chair of the South Carolina Dem Party.
Any sensible individual should throw the rules out the window if the rules are stupid. Smart people discard stupid rules. Smart people break stupid rules. What has happened to FL and MI is plain stupid. Not only stupid but most likely illegal.
So whatever you say about "the rules", they will most likely get thrown out the window at the convention.
I just love the smell of Republican fear.
americanworker: Time to go back to work. Homework. So that instead of falling farther into the abyss of ignorance you are inhabiting, you can educate yourself to the standard of excellence Obama expects of himself and his supporters demand of each other. Who DID you vote for in 2000 and 2004? Hmmmmmmm?
Obama has sided with the neo-colonialists who want to recolonize Africa. He has made that clear with his support for the British policy against Zimbabwe for example.
That's some excellence!
My first thoughts when I heard about this: aid the spider to the fly.
ll it and non-sequitur logic dictates, heads he wins; tails you lose! .too creepy!! xxcelllent !"

Sorry, I can't be philosophical or political about this, it just begs ridiculous idiomatic "gotchas".
I can't lose this image in my head of (his separated-at-birth twin) Mr. Burns.."Ex
I'm flummoxed! Is this THE Rupert Murdoch, Media Mogul? Or is this an impersonator? If he's the real deal. BEWARE!
Exactly! This is very troubling. Obama called into Murdoch's daughter's Obama fundraiser in London a couple of days ago and spoke about making The United Kingdom a "full partner" of the U.S.A. What is going on? After all the help Tony Blair gave Cheney and Bush in order to start the Iraq war this is definitely not the right direction.
Obama! Don't get involved with Murdoch! Don't take the dirty money!
Rupert Murdoch says he is anxious to meet him? Is he not aware that his very own daughter in England threw a giant fundraiser for Obama? And I read that Rupert Murdoch has contributed to his campaign. Kinda surprises me to read that he hasn't yet met him. Not so sure I believe it.
Maybe Murdoch wants to meet Obama and to persuade Obama to conduct more right-wing policies?
Hillary and her supporters have every intention of continuing this primary fight. It’s NOT over. Hillary will take it to the convention, she’ll find a way to buy off, I mean convince superdelegates with political favors. The AA and youth voters will leave in disgust, the rest of us will vote Green party, and McSame and a bunch of Republicans luck into power again.
.petitiono nline.com/ Or4DU/peti tion.html
If you want to do something about ending this primary mess, sign this and other petitions calling for Democratic Party Unity:
http://www
First of all, your petition is invalid so it's not going to do you much good.
Secondly, way to false advertise. You're not "uniting" the Democratic party at all, you're just asking for superdelegates for your candidate. This is why it's hard to trust the Obama camp.
um, "asking the superdelegates for your candidate" is EXACTLY what Hillary is begging for each and every day. All of the fearmongering, hateful people on Taylor Marsh are begging the superdelegates to go against the popular vote. So do you find it "hard to trust" the Clinton camp for the same reasons you find it 'hard to trust" the Obama camp? Why do the Clintons expect special treatment, on each and every issue? Hillary can beg superdelegates, but Obama can't. Hillary can talk about November strategy, but Obama isn't allowed. Hillary can cry sexism, but the minute anybody brings up racism, the feathers in Hillary's camp ruffle with "How Dare You?!"
Agreed, Ruport Murdoch is NOT a stupid man...this should be no surprise (although it is a nice pick-me-up).
This is good news for Obama. The more support the better !!!!!
One word.
OOOOOOWWWW W!
WWWOOOOOOO
So, McCain is a friend of his, and he says "pass". Interesting.
Murdoch, that great American-f or-tax-pur poses.
Murdoch isn't stupid, he didn't make his fortune betting on losers. He picks money makers, hate mongers are money makers right now. Things will change as the damage that Bush has done is recognized by the hardest core of the 28%ers.
He has continued to air The Simpsons for almost 2 decades, and to quote Bart on a recent rerun -
"I had to watch some propaganda called Fox News.", or Homer buying NewsCorp stock, Lisa says,
"Dad that's Fox". Homer:" Undo, undo, undo".
P.S. - they have always had a contractual clause that dis-allows interference by the network.
Further proof that Murdoch doesn't care what's on, as long as it makes money.
I predict that if people want a cheerleader for the progressives, and the ratings drop for Fox's brainless bobbleheads, then Fox news will react very quickly.
In two years, liberals might be Fox fans, because Murdoch will make business decisions, and buy up the best liberal commentators he can.
If that comes to pass, please remember that, no matter what, Murdoch goes for the bottom line and he really doesn't care what it takes to get those numbers up. It won't be anymore sincere than the fair and balanced lie they tell now.
Murdoch and other powerful people (like Pelosi and others in Congress, even Kennedy) like the young, inexperienced, malleable Obama whom I think they feel they can control.
If they think they can control Obama, they are in for a very big surprise.
