Today is Positive Thinking Day! The power of positive thinking, you've heard that before. But does it really work? According to the Mayo Clinic, it is a resounding YES! "Positive thinking helps with stress management and can even improve your health," says The Mayo Clinic.

At HooplaHa, we believe in positive thinking so much we even created a series around it called The Weekly Positive. This series delivers a one-minute video every Monday to help you start your week off with a great attitude and help spread the word about positive thinking, and smiling.

Meet Pat, host and inspiration behind The Weekly Positive video series:

Pat is a NY film student, YouTube vlogger and self-proclaimed "positivity-addict." Known for his energetic spirit and creativity, Pat is always finding unique ways to get his inspiring message out to others. In The Weekly Positive series, he challenges viewers to complete a simple mission that promotes positivity, ranging anywhere from writing compliments to yourself on the mirror or submitting a photo of your smile that he will turn into street art!

According to The Mayo Clinic, "researchers continue to explore the effects of positive thinking and optimism on health." Health benefits that positive thinking may provide include:

  • Increased life span
  • Lower rates of depression
  • Lower levels of distress
  • Greater resistance to the common cold
  • Better psychological and physical well-being
  • Reduced risk of death from cardiovascular disease
  • Better coping skills during hardships and times of stress

Who knew having a positive attitude came with such a great benefits package!? Sounds like we should all remember to honor Positive Thinking Day today and consider making positivity a permanent part of our daily lives!
