You Won't Believe What This Woman Does With NYC MetroCards

Posted: Updated:

There's some value to the saying "Your trash may be someone else's treasure." Nina Boesch, a NY based interaction designer from Germany, turns old MetroCards into art. A staple of NYC culture, most city goers just think of it as a means to get to their location. Boesch, however, looks at them from a different perspective.

"You can create something beautiful out of what some people consider trash," says the innovative collage artist. She creates amazing MetroCard collages made from cut up pieces of used and expired New York City subway tickets.

Nina's been creating collages from MetroCards for over 10 years now. Initially just for friends and family, and recently for a broader audience with exhibits in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Laguna Beach, California. For more information, visit her website.
