Arianna appeared on CNN's "Situation Room" this evening to discuss the day's news along with Tony Blankley. They discussed whether Nancy Pelosi has anything to be worried about as House Speaker and Cheney's speech today defending the Bush administration's practices.

The debate in this country is not about the efectiveness of torture... It is that torture is illegal and just plain wrong. Why does the administration allow Cheney to pull the debate into his arena? Why isn't CNN covering the story of the Conservative Talk Show host who volunteered to be waterboarded to show it was nothing then ended up stating it was definitely torture.

This story has much more meaning than this story and every news outlet is carrying it except for Fox and CNN.

There was no alqaeda in Iraq thats what the torture was all about to obtain false confessions to justify the war. The 911 commission says clearly Hassan had nothing to do with alqaeda or 911. I challange you 4,000 of our greatest marines died for nothing and we would not look at the bodies coming home and more than 30,000 wounded. 650,000 Iraque died , six milion displaced and not coming home any time soon.

Your premise is way off the mark. Torture is more likely to elicit untrue information than useful intelligence. The reason torture was initially employed in 2002 was to try to establish a link between Al Queda and Saddam Hussein, not to try to detect and thwart existing threats.
