"Missed opportunity! Arianna didn't mention McCain did the same thing --to his sick & ailing 1st wife, having an affair with Cindy before divorcing."
If we are consistent with our concern over Edward's affair shouldn't that disqualify McCain for President? He has had a string of affairs and cheated on his ailing wife, dumped her and married multimillionaire Cindy. Seems rather heartless to me and what about the morals? Religious right should reject McCain. Whereas look at Obama if you want a family man that is devoted to his wife and children and follows his marriage vows, he is your man.
Obama '08 and leave the Edward's problem to the Edwards family, unless we are going to give equal time to McCain's adulterous background.

If McCain comments on this, that would take alot of gall. Cindy McCain would like us all to believe that she and John got together after he and Carol were separated, big fat not. She can tell that fairy tale all she wants, but it doesn't change the facts. As for what John Edwards did, it was wrong and he has to square it with his family, not us or the media. He is out of the public eye. He lied big time to everyone while running for office and it has now come back to bite him on the ass. If he is the father of that little girl, that is another issue that he will have to face. But I disagree with the Editor of the of another paper, it's not our business, nor his. But most likely that news will appear in the papers like this did.

Airing each other's dirty laundry? They can't even cover professional ethics breaches, like what was done to the editing of McCain's interview with Katie Couric.

It remains to be seen whether Newtie Gingrich has the utter gall to comment against Edwards.
Newtie of course is a regular stooge on Fox Newstwisters Cesspool, and so apparently Rupert and Roger have no problem with their lackey who left his cancer victim wife for a young staff member whom he'd been servicing (at the same time he was raising hell about Clinton and Monica) and in turn dumped her for still another one.

Well that isn't what Janus said, is it...and Edwards did not dump his wife...he had an extramarital affair. THEY will work through this. And comparing Newtie to Edwards is like comparing potatoes with apples.

What is it of your business to intrude in other peoples bedrooms and their sexlifes?? From a European point of you it is sickening to see with what kind of stuff you preoccupy yourself instead of dealing with REAL issues!!
Edwards is neither a candidate nor does he held a public office. So forget it and mind your own business!! and why does Obama has to comment on this private affair. If he's man enough he should say: no comment! it's Edwards private stuff and not worth commenting on!
Politicians private and sex lifes in Europe do not interest people and rightly so! Please bother about REAL issues and make shure this campaign is not becoming a total carnival - your words Mrs. Huffington! - So ignore it please!!!

The bottom line is that if Edwards were our nominee right now or had even been named Obama's VP choice, we Democrats would be dead in November. So I'm glad Arianna pursued the story earlier, and if you would listen very carefully to Obama's statement, it was circumpsect but not judgmental.

I'm with you Speranza. I'm ready to move to Europe. This country is hopeless. I'm 49, a lawyer licensed in NY CA FL and DC. Yet I will face the rest of my life in poverty as I've spent everything on health care costs. I believed in the issues Edwards believed in. Seeing the media attack like this makes me ashamed to be an American.

I am surprised you appeared on CNN adding to the frenzy regarding the Edwards bombshell. Every time I flipped to CNN, there was either a commercial (usually for a new wonder-drug) or Wolf Blitzer or some other self-righteous over-payed entertainer, (oops, I meant journalist) drone about the shocking news with dubious psychiatrists and panels. Send in the clowns.
Yes this is news because he ran for President; had he gotten the nomination, the lying about the incident would have been devastating. But the same media that is now crucifying the man (and causing unimaginable pain to the family) never gave him the time of day when he was running. I think he received more coverage from CNN today than he did during the entire primary. Beam me up, Scotty, there's no intelligent life down here!
Now, the media vultures are going to so damage the man that he may be finished in politics, which would be a shame, for whatever his personal mistakes, he was a voice for the poor and stood up against the most well-funded and powerful corporate interests. He stood up for me.
FYI, think a war may have been started between Russia and Georgia while W vacations at the Olympics (he ought to wear a better anti-perspirant when he's under stress or at least not raise his arms; I don't know if you saw the footage today of the W waving but it wasn't pretty.

Whoa there barbwiregrrl! I still believe (and hope) this was a minor slip on Ms.Huffington's part. It certainly is at odds with her books which rightly point out the follies and dangers of the main stream media and the lunatic right wing fringe. I don't know or care about her finances, but I suspect she writes those books because she believes in what she's writing not for the money. They certainly seem well-researched and passionate.
She admits she sometimes gets caught up in the MSM obsessions with celebrity, etc. Like most of us do from time to time. So please cut her a little slack.

I can only hope , and Ask ... that his Wife, and his family Forgives him... For that... it is not for me to Judge...!
If his Wife, and his Family forgives him, than so Shall I.
"Faith..." is more powerful than "Judgement..." Peace be stall...
