Arianna..sorry I missed you but i refuse to watch the Morning Joe Show ... Joe is an egomaniac that loves to hear himself talk and when someone counters him, he starts acting like a teenage bully and because it is his show always has the last word. Mika is like a brainless puppet, so is Willie. Pat is so far right he lives in his own bubble and think his nonsensical rambling is mainstream. The show should be called Morning Joke.
Part 2: Think about it! This fits the pattern of an Eliot Spitzer/Don Siegelman/Rovian redux. This smells like a bankster-cum-political hit job - and mark my words while everyone is being distracted and repulsed by the media’s (bread and circus) account of the Governor’s alleged crimes, the people of Illinois will ultimately be the losers. As for the victory against BOA by the workers at Republic, this will only be temporary until it falls off the radar screen. With nation-wide protests this week against BOA, BOA is in damage control mode, but I can assure you that the they are doing everything possible to divert our attention from the economic slaughter and the consolidation of political and economic power that is taking place in this country. A few weeks ago a group of CEO's met with Chicago Mayor Daley to warn him of massive layoffs. Get ready folks! This is just the tip of the iceberg! The message they don’t want us to focus on is that there is not going to be a bailout for Main Street - only for Wall Street…and they don’t want any uppity unemployed workers (or rogue politicians who stand up for the little people) getting out of line.
Part 1: Right Quantumspin! The real issue is being obfuscated. There is much more to this story than anyone realizes. While I do not condone any alleged wrong doing by Gov. Blagojevich, the timing of this is highly suspicious - especially in light of Blagojevich's stand with the workers of Republic Window and Door factory on Monday afternoon. In solidarity with Republic’s workers, Blagojevich announced the suspension of all state business with Bank of America. The next morning he is slapped with corruption charges and arrested at his home. But let's see: Rahm Emanuel and Obama have both received substantial campaign donations from Bank of America. In fact BOA (and Merrill Lynch) were one of the top donors. It is all very interesting that now Obama and the rest of the Senate are asking for Blagojevich to step down. So from a political and strategic standpoint we have the Gov's seat, Obama's Senate seat and Rahm Emanuel's Congressional seat open. Could it be that the “Powers That Be” figured out another way to get what they want without gratuitous bribes or a public election?
This investigation has been ongoing for quite a while. B of A may or may not have involvement in the timing of the arrest, but it looks like a long stretch to me. Fitz said he wanted to prevent Blago from naming a Senator because no matter who it was would be a tainted appointment and I find no reason to doubt what he said.
Arianna, you have taken your eye off the ball again!! We are all in such deep sh.... , This issue is overshadowing the important stuff. Health care, B of A plans to fire 35,000. so much more. The obsession with the "dirt for days" has ruined our press for 8 yrs. Now stop this national inquirer crap and discuss the real issues that will hopefully help press the American reset button.
After lisening to the transcripts by the Governor, it appears that this man desperately needs cash in a hurry. The urgency in his voice also tells me that he is willing to violate the law to get what he needs. Seems to me that the Gov must be made to submit himself for psychological or psychiatric evaluation or both. These outbursts are so profanity lased and spontaneous that I fail to see how PE Obama can be accused of being a part of the Governor's scheme. Shame on the Repugs. As usual, they are happy to provide the PE with a basket, and demand that he fetches enough water in it to fill a bath tub. Such rogues.
Like one of the clown's on fox and friends who tried to make out that Obama is a liar because he said he never had contact with Blagojavitch (whatever) and produced a tape of Obama shaking hands with the him while gleefully saying there that proves he had contact...brain dead fox and friends
"Obama needs to be Transparent to put this behind him". How can he be transparent if he did not do anything, what is there to show through that transparency?
Arianna was terrific this morning! Somehow Joe was in hand this morning, instead of foaming at the mouth. I like watching him, especially when he lets his guests complete a sentence.
If President-Elect Obama says, "I called Blagojevitch and said Walt McCoski would be a good senator," but I didn't get anywhere with that," SO WHAT! What is there to "come clean" about?
Hey, somebody make a charge with a specification and then ask Obama what about it? Since when must any "presumed innocent" person "come clean" about ANYTHING? The media are not GOD.
Arianna - it's always fun and educational to hear you on these shows. You make good points and you have a nice sense of humor as well. Not a big fan of this particular show though, Joe and Mika are kind of annoying. Joe with his, "I'm not saying Obama has anything to do with this, but........."
Anyway, the main thing that stuck with me was the cookies. I feel a great need now to bake Christmas cookies. And an even greater need to eat one.
It is all Bush's fault. Obama has heard nothing in the years that he has worked in Illinois politics, Durbin has heard nothing, Emanuel has hear nothing in the years of being involved in Illinois politics. This corruption is just news to them, first time ever. Reminds me of Pastor Wright, for twenty years he has never said anything troubling in Obama's presence. You guys must be kidding. Oj, and Caroline Kennedy's potential selection to replace Hillary does not have any associated deal making in New York? Ted Kennedy is just calling not to influence the decision? Politics has been and unfortunately continues to be a dirty contact sport. The Illinois Governor does not have much grace, but if he spoke with no one (and all deny any contact) then he must have been just talking among his advisors and friends and that is not an illegal act, just not a very nice guy. Or he has in fact talked to folks in which case there maybe a lot more to come
What alternative universe do you live in. One where you can smear anyone you want because they know someone?
Obama has distanced himself from Blago for almost a year now. Blago was not included in anything that Obama did while running for President? Do you want to know why? Because Obama knew that Blago was dirty and that he was being investigated.
You know cupcake, I understand how much it hurts to be on the losing side. But you really do need to learn to live with it because if you don't, the next 8 years are going to be awfully hard on you.
"What alternative universe do you live in. One where you can smear anyone you want because they know someone?"
What universe do you live in? Try running for your local school board as a felon or corrupt politician. Doesn't matter?
And, this winning stuff is getting old. You won, so what? So did Bush. Remember how popular he was? What goes around come around and this incident just shows the democrats really don't have room to gloat when it comes to governmental ethics.
As far as I'm concerned most politicians are interchangeable. It doesn't matter what party. Blaggovich was merely following the pattern laid out before him by others. They're all the same. America needs a benevolent dictator.

I am sure that Joe was "in hand" because Arianna is more than capable of owning his butt in real time and then owning it again on HuffPo.

WOW , There was a whole lot of speculation going on at that table

Where money is confused as speech Blagojevich rises from its excrement.
Joe is assuming Rahm Emanuel might be on tape talking to the governor without any evidence. That kind of assumption is unacceptable.
But typical for Republicans. They have nothing, so they have to make things up. It's pretty pathetic.
