Arianna appeared on "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" Friday night to talk about why a number of Senate Democrats voted against legislation aimed at stemming foreclosures Thursday. Arianna read a list of the names of the Democratic Senators who voted against the bill and called on President Obama and Harry Reid to take a firmer stand against the influence of the banks who opposed the legislation.

Don' t worry, Obama's "got this":
...
First, he'll have Beyonce sing a mediocre version of an R&B classic;
Then Michelle will dazzle' em with some Not Too High fashion:
Finally, "Will I Am" will Slip' em all a Blunt and the battle WILL (pardon the Pun) be won... er, uh... winnereded
Seriously:
We have a man who is qualified to be president (at least by recent standards). He just needs a little more help and a lot less worship and HYPE!
I feel that this will become a defining issue for those Senators and Congressmen/women seeking reelection next year. So what about the GOP? Did all those Senators vote against the relief bill? Are they still the Party of No?
Arianna, you are a smart woman with a good grasp on facts. But when you appear with the likes of KeithO et al, your credibility suffers. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the hard core leftist rah rah groups. Everyone knows what they are all about and they have nothing to add to the debate.
the likes of Keith O? Birds of a feather as they say. Let me spell it out ,this site IS the group .I wrote no less than 20 comments emploring everyone to please stop bashing the 'opposite camp's' personal lives and parenting skills and stick to the political issues NOT A CHANCE -even the headlines, even the editorial staff is involved, look at the way they regularly headline and misuse the words bash, slam, attack etc so if it's leftist yer lookin' for ,you found it.
Spare us the credibility argument, when your talking heads on faux news EVER do a retraction story because they got facts wrong then you can talk.
Keith O gives facts with a leftist twist but the facts are real facts unlike faux news facts which are in fact devoid of any real facts.
How is it the banks that got bailout money are spending money on lobbying in DC? Maybe someone can do some digging into how much of the peoples money has gone to lobby politicians. In my opinion this is as outrageous as the ceo pay.
Worst
**worse**
I'd like to know how much Pelosi and her husband paid in taxes!! How many corporate boards does he sit on for the big bucks (which are payoffs maybe ??) What has Pelosi's great ETHICS Committe been up to? I don't see Murtha or Rangel or the other congressional ilk of their honesty being investigated. The Labor Dept has said they don't need money to investigate labor unions either.
When are these Senators going to start recuesing themselves based on their campaign donations?
Never! Corporations paid good money for us to get the bad wasteful government we get. Look at Murtha's airport 3 million payoff for $197 million in earmark waste/fraud/screw the hardworking citizen. Check out special bill for pharmacutical patents that are extented for a few extra years so tha generic drugs can't be sold cheap. Claritan is just one example less than $30,000 got a $2 mil excess profit for the Co.
O the collective cram down that could be if concerned citizens would band together and start cramming.
I am not holding mt breath for Obama to go to the mat on this issue. He is a politiian, he will pick his fights. He did not say that in the campaign of course.
These are the blue dog dems? it's time for ben nelson to go - he is a closet republican!
That's the truth, he should change parties, he backs the Republicans now. He also is just loving all the attention he is getting for should we say his bipartisanship. We better get these blue dog Dems out in 2010 as many as possible. We are never going to get change if these Republicans with (DEM) after their name.
Thanks Ariana for speaking out for what is right & not adhering to the usuals. The problem with democracies is that we are forced to vote for people who then act according to their own self-interest or are disciplined by the big lobbies. It is very discouraging, but this crisis is hitting many Americans where it hurts the most. It's not some big lobby directing our foreign policies. It's directing whether our families can maintain any semblance of middle class life. Maybe Durbin's defeat that so clearly would have helped so many of us will cause Americans to take a critical look at our flawed system of allowing lobbies to control our govt.
Check out You tube under "Barack Obama's policies.. .shortened version." He promises bankruptcy reform for people facing foreclosure. Plain and simple. Durbin said the White house wasn't doing any more than stating that they support it, when it was obvious that the bankers had won and Durbin could of used all the help he could get.
As Senator Obama, he even co-sponsored a bankruptcy reform bill in the Senate much like the one the banks defeated. Joe Biden in his debate with Sarah Palin specifically mentioned bankruptcy reform with what is called cramdown as a goal of the administration. And it has been said here and I remember that bankruptcy reform was mentioned as a goal of the early administration as part of the economic recovery.
Please, President Obama, the People needed bankruptcy reform. Please resuscitate it!
Changing Contracts after the fact will only create Worthless expensive work for Lawyers. Go back and look at the wonderful work that Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and their ilk did to write bad laws and push loans for weak/UNQUALIFIED borrowers. Someone should ask (like it will happen) Franklin Rains for the $70 Mil he got paid in only 6 years at Freddie Mac while buying subprime (BAD) loans and inflating the housing bubble.
One to two minutes into this clip Obama promises bankruptcy reform. Why was he not pushing congress for this himself? Durbin said the White house was not really helping. This was part of Obama's campaign promise. .youtube.c om/watch?v =mksOYgLty 3s

we need a 3rd party...th ere will ALWAYS be dems and repubs owned by the corporates.
The 3rd party would become just as corrupt with time. What we need is to start electing men and women of integrity, not the person who strokes our ego. Americans elect people like they buy cars: they don't do the objective research on the product, and they usually buy the car from the shyster with the slickest line, who strokes their ego and tells them what they want to hear. Thus they don't by the best car at the best price. They let themselves be suckered. It's almost as if they want to be.
And have you ever noticed that many of our politicians are exactly that? They have the ethics of a used car salesman. And we elect them.
We also elect people who will do our dirty work. Here in Arizona, where racism runs rampant, a politician can be crude, uneducated, his policies can run the state's institutions into the ground, but as long as he promotes the persecution of people of color, he will get elected.
So perhaps instead of wishing for another party or a savior, we need to look at ourselves and take the splinter out of our own eye before we elect a politician with a log in his.
Like the Republicans who are totally corrupt, the Democrats have their dirty dog Conservative " Blue dog Democrats". Now they added Arlen Specter, so instead of booting them out, they welcome them with open arms. Yes we must be a party with a big tent, however we must demand loyalty.
I agree. With term limits for members of Congress.
Olberman and Huffington have it partially right. What they fail to realize is that the Dems and Repubs are just 2 parts of the same party which stands against the interest of the common man. If we keep voting for the same people (Dems and Repugs) we can expect to keep getting the same results. Next time, examine the issues and the record and vote third party.
Let's have election reform and see who sells out then.
My bet is the conservatives and Republicans vote against the interests of the people for free.

These are the same Dems with Nelson in the lead who oppose health care for all Americans as well. It seems anything that helps the little guy, these senators are against along with the GOP.
