Ms. Huffington was delightful as always, but Chuck Hagel for veep is an rotten idea. He's OK on Iraq, but on domestic issues he's a standard Republican cave man. I'd have a hard, hard time voting for Obama (who I think is TERRIFIC) if Hagel were on the ticket.
Believe it or not, you and Hagel are for the same things.
You for example are not pro abortion, nor is anyone. The issue of compromise is prevention of unwanted pregnancy. Little George and the republicans have been divisive. It's time to find inclusion and this is done by compromise.
When you really think about it, we're not as divided as George the divider has made us seem.
Great, eloquent, style and class all the way, AS USUAL for Ms. Huffington.
Far, Far Far way too short of an "interview"! I think our country cannot quite get enough of Ms. Huffington and her message.
Thank you again, Arianna, for ALL that you do.
You are a true patriot.

I think it is a great idea to consider Chuck Hagel, but he must be vetted with respect to the programs Obama wants, especially UHC.
I would imagine that Hagel's thoughts may be a bit more conservative than Obama's but then, maybe he could be persuaded.
I know that he has a great book out about himself, maybe I should read it. That being, it sounds good on paper, but I am cool with a Republican being a heartbeat away from the Presidency.
I love Arianna. What a great sense of humor she has, and she uses it like a sword.
"John McCane mentioned CHANGE in his speech 32 times, and yet it was all really about how he has changed."
But if she could run can you think of anyone smarter or more intune with the pulse of the American people?
And she woud appeal to female voters that had their hopes about Hillary.
And to all those who have asked for her hand in marriage - I couldn't agree more. She is the model of what every man hopes for - smart - funny - beautiful and just enough sassiness to keep you guessing.
Arianana was absolutely correct about Obama's weakness being southern white males, especially those over 50.
IMO, he should closely examine what JFK did in 1960. Although JFK was not fond of Lyndon Johnson he knew Johnson would appeal to voters over 50 and would put some southern states in play that otherwise would be lost. I believe that having Johnson on the ticket was the key to JFK's win.
I think Obama would be wise to choose someone such as Sam Nunn or Wesley Clark. Clark would be especially strong because of his age, southern heritage and military record. Sam Nunn is a great statesman and is certainly better informed on foreign policy than is Clark, however Clark's military record could very well play an important part in the election since everyone knows the RepubliCONS are going to play McSame's military experience to the hilt.
Wes Clark is my choice for VP too. As a Four Star General and Supreme Commander of NATO during the Bosnian conflict, Clark's military record totally out shines McCane.
Please, not Sam Nunn, who has a long history of anti-gay policy support. I'm hoping Wesley Clark does not have a similar history. Does anyone out there know? From what I know now, Wes Clark looks like a good pick.
I''ll be surprised to see this comment get thru but here goes! I have a crush on Arianna. She is HOT! Smart! This would be the kind of woman I could easily support for President! I know, you all think I'm just ass kissing. But come on guys, i can't possibly be alone on this!
I disagree about Hagel. He's still a republican, but I would put him somewhere in Obama's administration. We wouldn't want a republican as president if God forbid, anything happened to Obama. I like Webb, and Gov. Strickland from Ohio maybe.
I think Hagel now is an independent, but he would have to sign on to the Democratic Party's platform for sure before he would be acceptable. He was part of that group that gathered around Bloomberg when he was considering an independent run, as was Gary Hart. I think something is afoot, and this is the year we are going to do away with the same old same old. Hagel's wife, BTW, endorsed Obama.
You looked absolutely ravishing dahling -- but above that, you were brilliant. That could have easily been me sitting there with Jay saying the things you said. I am FROM Houston and remember so well the years you were as "right-winged" as I was. When you first switched parties, several years ago, I was apalled and shocked and felt betrayed. For many reasons, years later, I too began to take control of my own destiny and began to explore what all of this right-winged brainwashing crap really meant ; then, lo and behold, along comes Obama.
Thank you beautiful lady, for helping to show me that we have the intelligence and the right to look at the other side and make our own decisions as to which candidate we honestly believe would be the best person to run our Country. I owe much of my courage to you, Arianna, and believe me, I am taking much heat from family members and friends who disagree with my decision but I could care less. I honestly believe that Barack Obama is the REAL DEAL and I plan to campaign every minute I have seeing that he is our next President of the United States.
Great, but being open minded shouldn't be so hard. Loyalty should be to your principles and beliefs, and if your party starts to shift away from your principles you should look for a new party.

What, Arianna? Chuck Hagel(R)? No. Sam Nunn(D). Done.

Chuck Hagel is a great idea. I hope Arianna is in the know.

Independent007,
LOL.
"respect to the programs Obama wants, especially UHC. "
That wasn't Obama's issue, that was HRC's for 35 years. But, hey, just keep cutting & pasting for Mr. Change '08.
I never really realized how politically misinformed Americans were regarding the details and or political history of their choice of candidates.
From now on people, when ever you want to refer to McCain, please make sure you use 'John W. Bush McCain.'
Ex: We cannot support John W. Bush McCain because he is advocating the failed policies of Dick Cheney.
Ex: John W. Bush McCain refuses to support a recent G.I. bill in congress, citing "it gives too much benefits to our veterans."
Ex: America cannot entrust a currently unstable U.S. economy to John W. Bush McCain who is on record saying, he does not understand the economy.
Please, spread the word about John W. Bush McCain.
America cannot afford John W. Bush McCain--not in treasure and definitely not in blood.
Would "Bush44" be acceptable?
Sounds like a good idea, but I am afraid it won't fly .... many people unfortunatly can't count to 44 and many more won't know what it means.
I love Arianna. What a great sense of humor she has, and she uses it like a sword.

About Arianna... I completely agree. I have watched her
for many years. She is truly a woman substance.
Ms. Huffington, will you please marry me? Oh wait, I'm already married. Darn.
Ariana for VP!!!!
Or would her citizen status keep her out?
But if she could run can you think of anyone smarter or more intune with the pulse of the American people?

Arianna you were GREAT on Leno!!!!
I wish Arianna would run for Congress and replace California Senator Dianne Feinstein.
I would second that in a heartbeat! Feinstein is just another DLC hack and a Republican-lite.
Or Nancy Pelosi!

An interesting idea. I think Arianna is a New Yorker, though, so she'd have to out here. I'd vote for her in a flash.
arianna thinks hagel too!

I love Arianna. Bright, articulate, funny, and right on the money with the answers to Leno's questions. Excellent!
