Arianna, Rita Wilson And Joy Behar Talk Sex & Relationships After 50 (VIDEO)

Posted: 10/03/11 10:01 PM ET

Arianna and Rita Wilson, editor of the newly launched Huff/Post50, joined HLN's Joy Behar on Monday to discuss sex and relationships after 50.

After some joking about how Wilson and actor Tom Hanks keep their relationship interesting, the conversation turned to intimacy in middle age.

Arianna, referring to an article that appeared on HuffPost Monday about sex over 60, said, "The whole point is that nothing is ever over. And whether it's your dreams or your sex life, the most important thing is to stop judging ourselves."

Self-doubt, Arianna said, is "something endemic in our lives ... and when you get older, it's wonderful to be freed from that."

for women, the best thing about turning 50 or 60, is that we realize we don't really need a man for anything anymore - and THAT is truly liberating :)
the same can't be said for men - they get more needy as they age.

And another advantage is more strongly believing one's own nonsense.

I LOVE Joy's glasses.
As far as the rest, well, my adivice to the ladies is if you're looking for a man, try finding one that looks like Joy's new husband. I'm sure there of plenty of those around.

Really? These three? Other than gender, they have nothing in common with the 99% of the women in the US. When one is desperate to keep their roof over their heads, and food in the house, and they have been looking for a job for three years, and have no health insurance for a pap smear or mammography, discussions about sex and relationships are a moot point.

On the other hand, healthy sex might be a nice alternative to forget everything you mentioned -- at least for an hour or two -- at least once in awhile; maybe even hang out, go hiking or whatever. Just a thought. You probably deserve it.

This off the subject, but interesting. In the mid 1990's HP did not pay much, but offered free health care, retirement, time off. This worked well until Carly took over and she cut all out, raised pay

Sex at 50 is nifty and sex at 60 is real spify!!!
No need to worry about birth control!!!! Theres plenty
of men of all ages who like older women both in and
out of bed but that's women who have a good head,
well read, and good stead.

No doubt.

As far as older ladies dating much younger guys, why the hell not? Younger girls go for older men for the financial value so it would see reasonable that younger guys would go for older ladies for the same reason. Equality I say!
