Arianna appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe to discuss the fallout of a U.S. soldier gunning down 16 Afghan civilians on Sunday.

"We need to acknowledge that while all war is hell, as we've seen with this tragic incident, unnecessary wars, like what we're doing now in Afghanistan are really immoral, " she said. "That is a terrible decision that the Obama administration made, to escalate. Every day we have more evidence about what a terrible decision it was. 60% of the American people basically think that this war is not necessary."

She explained that nothing else can be accomplished by the U.S. continuing to have military presence in Afghanistan.

"What is going to change by 2014?," she asked. "The Karzai government will be just as corrupt as it is now, the Taliban will be as strong as it is now because they are there, they know they're going to be there forever and Al Qaeda is not in Afghanistan."
