HuffPost's Alex Wagner Discusses Medicare Cuts On MSNBC (VIDEO)

Posted: 06/14/11 08:35 PM ET

HuffPost's Alex Wagner appeared Tuesday on MSNBC to discuss the Democrats' battle against Medicare cuts.

"I think it's high time that the Democrats at least have some ground to stand on and circle the wagons a little bit," said Wagner.

Referencing the party's opposition to GOP Congressman Paul Ryan's Medicare proposal, Wagner said, "strategically speaking, the Paul Ryan Medicare plan is the best tactic the Dems have had since Obama ran for office. I mean, this is manna from heaven for the 2012 presidential campaign."

The statement that Medicare has grown twice as fast as our economy is a testament not of the threat of Medicare but a pointer at how sluggish and stagnant our economy (Wall Street) has been and continues to be. The correlation between job outsourcing and corporate tax cuts is that as one grew so did the other steadily depleting the revenue flow in our country. The argument for tax cuts to the wealthy and corporate America for job generation has demonstrated for the past 10 years that this leads to job stagnation and not growth. Cut the tax rate for the real small business (1 million dollars and down) and then you'll see some hiring. Corporate America has proven itself to be self aggrandizing and very harmful to America.

Where were all the Democrats when Obama diverted $112 billion of contributions from Social Security and called it a ''tax holiday?''

Er...it's not exactly like that...it is a payroll tax holiday, and the people who are receiving it will actually spend it, unlike the corporations and wealthy.

Obama is supposed to pay the 2% he cut from payroll for Social Security back this year.

It was done with the condition that this money will be returned to the Social Security fund. It was a loan.

Stock tip: Kimberly-Clark (KMB), maker of Depends. Talk of Medicare cuts is going to scare the seniors into soiling their Depends a lot more often than they need to. lol

You ought to buy some too. All those people you're laughing at will simply keep working until they drop dead, so rotsaruck if you need to change jobs, or your graduating senior is seeking one.

Where were all their voices when Obamacare cut funds to Medicare?
02:03 AM on 06/20/2011
There was uproar from republicans, but Obama's health care plan cut funds from medicare to replace it with a more efficient system of distribution of aid. His plan would not destroy medicare, or in anyway privatize it.

I personally believe that we should remove profit from health insurance. No gosh darn public option, Obama is a phony progressive.

The Affordable Health Care Act focused on eliminating waste and fraud and minimizing redundancy.
That's about savings!
