Howard Fineman Discusses Mitt Romney's Debate Skills On 'Hardball' (VIDEO)

Posted: 06/14/11 07:22 PM ET

Howard Fineman appeared Tuesday on MSNBC's 'Hardball with Chris Matthews' to discuss Mitt Romney's performance at Monday night's GOP presidential debate.

"Romney rocked," said Fineman. "It's amazing the way things have shifted around, a couple weeks ago Romney was being widely derided as a non-starter."

Recalling past successes of the Romney campaign, Fineman said,"The best punch I've seen so far out of this crew is the one that Romney said when he announced. He said that if you're gonna create jobs in the private sector, it's really better if you actually had one yourself. And that got a really good response."

Romney will finish what George W started. Drive the country completely over the cliff.

Romney is uniquely skilled for the problems this country faces... I'll be voting for him.

Do you think he'll be able to get everything all squared away in two years? Just curious.

How is he uniquely skilled? Because he has actually been one of the CEO's to lay off thousands, and send thousands of more jobs overseas? Or is it because he already has been successful as a non job creating executive while governor of Mass, where he ranked 47th in job creation while serving? We don't even have to get into the Mormon thing now, but that's going to loom, like it or not....the only way he is uniquely qualified is that he has a great head of hair and he's a white guy.

Frankly, Mittens was the only one who looked "presidential" but that is not saying much. I would support any candidate who says they will: end the wars and bring all troops home, keep their hands off Social Security and Medicare, make the Wall Streeters do the perp walk in front of the cameras, address the 14th Amendment and change it, bring Bush and Cheney under investigation for war crimes.
So...as you can imagine..I won't be voting......LOL.

Cynical and jaded. Just when do you think you'll get the government of your dreams?

He could be dangerous, if you just look at the veneer ( and the hair pomade). But on substance, which most voters don't care about, he is a consultant, who has laid off thousands of workers to 'turn around' companies. His slash and burn record is out there for all to see. His comments about the auto industry, hopefully can be amplified to the working class, who might not like to vote for the dark dem, would see no support for mfg in this vanilla suit.

I work in MA, and saw his influence on the state. Not a horrible gov - but not presidential material.

I like Mitt Romney. He did an awesome job when he saved the olympics.

Mittens no way he is a house cat, on the street he would fair poorly, to many other big cats and dogs
