Nico Pitney, National Editor of The Huffington Post, has been covering the continuing crisis in Iran after the controversial presidential election on his extensive live-blog. Yesterday, President Obama called on Pitney during his press conference in order to answer a question directly from an Iranian. On Monday Pitney had asked on his live-blog what Iranians would like to ask President Obama if they had the chance.
Last night Pitney was a guest on Charlie Rose to discuss Obama's answer to his question as well the events unfolding in Iran as demonstrators continue to take to the streets despite a violent crackdown by the regime.

It has to be different this time! The Iranian people can and have the intelligence and the ability to continue with a nonviolent -nonresist ance uprising. No I am not saying do what Gandhi did, I am saying do something BETTER & MORE EFFECTIVE than Gandhi did.

I continue to hold the Iranian people in the light, and know that these words belong to them at this point in history:
"There is no danger that dauntless courage cannot conquer; there is no trail that spotless purity cannot pass through; there is no difficulty that strong intellect cannot surmount. For those who win onwards... --the power to bless & save humanity."
