This interview helps to frame the issue of main stream press, and in particular newspapers versus the new media is very interesting.
The issues of trusting the main stream media and the fact that the corporate entity that owns the MSM outlet forces it's agenda on the positions taken.
The issue of the insider influences on MSM outlets expecially after the debacle of the Iraq war with the Republican political machine found to be in bed with certain MSM outlets.
The new media is much more democratic form of journalism because it is real-time and anyone can contribute and although many of the comments are clearly uninformed, the probability of finding and reading the sought for gem of wisdom is greater because more opinions are registered in a more direct manner.

Granted there are excellent writers working for some MSM outlets, however, the quantity and collective brain power focused on an issue by the new media overcomes the talent of the relatively few good writers that become pre-conditioned over time with an agenda rather that remaining objective.
