HuffPost media editor Rachel Sklar discusses the issue of tricky, controversial endorsements in the campaign, and what kind of duty a candidate has to reject an endorsement from a controversial and/or hatemongering figure. The conversation centered specifically around John McCain's endorsement by Pastor John Hagee, who has made numerous anti-Catholic, homophobic and otherwise questionable comments.

For clarification, here's the statement I was referring to when I said that McCain had "said he embraced Hagee because they stood for the same things and he supported things that McCain supported":
Well I think it's important to note that pastor John Hagee who has supported and endorsed my candidacy supports what I stand for and believe in. When he endorses me, it does not mean that I embrace everything that he stands for and believes.
