Why does the media have so many people on the air who say the same thing? Very true with msnbc. Pat B is the only one who gives a different view. I will probably vote for Bama but he can not possibly be as PERFECT as msnbc proclaims. Lets see what happens when Russert and Mathews suck up to their good buddy Mc Cain.

I believe you are absoluely right, Dan.
Here is a little irony for you. When I came to this country, back in 1972, I didn't care a bit about politics and, therefore didn't know anything about it. I liked and sympathized with every president that came along: Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan and Bush. I liked Bush Sr.so much that I kind of detested Clinton for getting in the way. But then the "Clinton scandal" came and I could see how not only the Republicans but the media as well wanted to crucify him. That inclined the balance of my political preferences to the Democratic side.
However, I see the same thing happening nowadays with Hillary Clinton with the attacks coming this time not only from Republicans, but also from the media, the so called blogosphere AND DEMOCRATS. I think I'm going independent again.

It's a little late, boys and girls...

The media has been running this primary campaign since the beginning.

THEY decided that they wanted a Hillary/Obama race, and proceeded to ignore and/or resurrect old faults regarding the other candidates to ensure it...The debate/forums last year were a travesty.

And now they've apparently decided that they want Obama to win(or they're afraid of being called racist of the call him out on anything...plus, Billary make such EASY targets).

Giving him a pass on important Senate votes he didn't even show up for (but the others did), giving him a pass on "plagerizing" someone else's speech after having vilified Joe Biden for a similar oversight, and resurrecting it again this time around (when they weren't ignoring Senator Biden, they were pecking him to death with innuendo).

In my opinion, the way the media manipulated this campaign, with NO resemblence of equal time rules, the American people should be able to file a grievance or some kind of class-action against the media with the FCC or PSC...

Anybody got any ideas?

I agree that Dan does a stellar job of keeping things straight and in perspective. He actually calls 'em like he sees 'em...It is, however, disappointing to see the other MSNBC shows be so blatant in their endorsement of Obama. Watch the "panels" on the other shows;Always 2 Obama backers like Fineman and Eugene Robinson, 1 Republican and 1 faux defender of HRC (usually with nothing good to say...) and they call this balanced.

There's an important difference between a conspiratorial manipulation and an unconscious participation in a mythological narrative.
The myths we live by are often as hard to detect as water would be for a fish.

A great website by Bob Somerby has been helpful to me in deconstructing the behemoth bandwagon American journalism has been riding:

Dan Rocks! He is the most intellectually genuine out there. Does his homework and does not irresponsibly regurgitate talking points distributed from the campaigns" like the Washington media establishment.

Thanks for this. Glad to see the media calling out the media.

Good discussion on the Abrams show.

I think that Abrams really does his homework and I've always felt that Howard Kurtz is an impartial observer and reporter, and was right on about media Clinton bashing.
