HuffPost Washington Bureau Chief Ryan Grim spoke on MSNBC's Tuesday edition of "NewsNation", discussing ways out of the gridlock between the Republicans and the Democrats over the debt ceiling.
As the August 2nd deadline approaches to raise the federal debt limit, Grim presented the latest news on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's GOP stance: "What we're hearing is that he's going to lay out a creative way out of this for Senate and House Republicans," Grim said.
That "creative way out" involves giving President Barack Obama the unilateral ability to raise the debt ceiling, with Congress holding nominal involvement. Grim added: "The Republicans think that puts all of the political onus on the White House."
