Huffington Post political reporter Ryan Grim went on MSNBC this afternoon to discuss the dire job situation in the state of Nevada, which hit a record high unemployment rate of 14.2% for the month of June.
"This place is utterly, utterly devastated," said Grim of the impact the economy has had on the state's workforce. "Almost everybody that you talk to around here has a story about how this economy has affected them."
Grim went on:
In fact, it's to the point where landlords aren't even asking whether or not you've gone through a short sale or a foreclosure when they're doing a credit check. They're not even looking for that. That's how pervasive and profound the devastation is around here. And this is actually the place where the rest of the country is headed.
