Sam Stein Discusses White House Anti-Terror Efforts, Cheney's Interviews

Sam Stein appeared on "Morning Joe" Monday morning to weigh in on the Obama administration's anti-terrorism efforts.

Yesterday, Vice President Joe Biden hit the Sunday morning talk show circuit to counter former Vice President Dick Cheney's contentions that the administration has been soft on terror. Stein argued that not so long ago, the Obama administration welcomed public commentary from someone with approval ratings as low as Dick Cheney's, but now the White House isn't so keen to hear from him. Cheney has taken his "bit of political flesh from the administration."

The Moment that you were elected Sir,...the moment you won the nomination Sir...the moment you announced your candidancy Sir ...forces were working against you and still are.

Mr. President, deals were done that handicapped you before even taking office. Massive sums of money on an historical scale were lost or either taken out of the economy. ''Scorched earth'' policy was in full swing waiting for you and the blame ready to lay at your feet.

The suffering and pain of people being laid off...having their homes taken away ...losing everything was to be left for you. All efforts to help those people ...the American public have been obstructed ..delayed ...and answered with a NO from the Republican party. Bankers took the money and ran..AND WORSE ...held back that money so that EVEN MORE could be blamed on you SIr.

When congress wanted to extend employment benefits to help ease the suffering ...the right fillibustered for a month while almost 200,000 people went off the rolls..losing everything ...

When you tried to fix health care , the special interests took hold by any means necessary. They have lied and misled...and delayed while people d1e...

You have tried to change it all from within ...

Now you stand there ...NOT ALONE ..STRONG STILL ...

Is it any wonder why this country is losing it's technology, engineeringl,science,math and research lead in the world? Too many Americans think being smart is a bad thing and even "elitist" and "Un-American". Sister Sarah tells them so.
What reason do you suppose there would be for a person with expertise and authority about an important subject to be reguarded by the GOP as a threat to the America they envision?

We aren't losing our technical edge. The rest of the world is just catching up. The biggest factor is that the US isn't fighting the trade war. The rest of the world is fighting a trade war, but the US is AWOL.

The problem with Joe assertion that the VPs are fighting each other is that it was Cheney that insisted on going after this administration for doing the same things that his administration did. The Obama administration decided to move on and not investigate the previous administration. They decided to address the current problems ahead of them. Cheney is the one who keeps rearing his head and bending over backward to put out this message that this administration is soft of terrorism and is incompetent all the while touting what his administration did. When a former VP insist on doing this, then the current administration has no choice to get out there and set the record straight.

I trust Joe Biden's experience and integrity more than any other politician on the canvas today. I think that Cheney just keeps blowing smoke to convince himself and others that torture was okay. Anyone who believes that torture is okay, has already conceded the war on terror...because they have allowed the terrorists to destroy their integrity and their HUMANITY. PTSD is a psychological problem, those suffering from it need help...not air time.

Certain politicians really need to dispense with the irresponsible rhetoric. Or does the USA not want to be a world leader anymore?

When concerning terrorists being tried it should be pointed out how cowardly and unwilling to make even the smallest sacrifices or take the slimmist of risks for their country . They'd rather shop.
The Bush and Cheney Administration built the super-human reputation and mythical status that the Terrorists now enjoy and use to their recruiting advantage .What disenchanted young Muslim with family killed by U.S. forces would not want to join such a monumentally respected and feared organization to achieve what they feel to be a justified revenge?
Cheney wants us to believe the Terrorists of today are much more ferocious and intent on American deaths than say the quaint, Kamakazis of Japan who crashed thier planes into our ships in a suicidal effort to kill Americans.
Cheney needs this enemy to be an unprecedented force to excuse him for betraying the laws of our country, our millitary and civilized people. If he fails in convincing us that extraordinary force& revenge are needed to face his "Supermen of Terror" it will show that he was incapable of doing what every Administration before him has thankfully mangaged to do so brilliantly every time before.
. Keep our Heads and Remember What We Claim To Represent.
It is hard to understand why a country would show the world that when a "terrorist" or even "Suspected Terrorist" has no reguard for laws and human lives that we find it appropriate to punish them by displaying our own disreguard for laws and human lives.

Joe knows how to spin just as Chenney does we all witness years of many fail foeign policies by the Bush Administration. Now the fomer Hilaburton CEO,that lost billion of dollars in his short tenure at CEO, who became Vice President to the most embarrassing set foreign policies ever.There was enough information wear he should have been indicted with his Chief of Staff Scooter Libby. The Supreme Court ruled against their coruption.Joe in the morning had any creditablity he would not use Bush or Chenney example of leadership. Now have reason? Ever since Bush lied about why this country needed to go into Iraq, republicans have been wrapping themselves in the flag screaming "patriotism" while letting their "friends" milk the American tax payers for billions.

If this country is serious about cutting it's spending we need to look at the flood of money flowing to the military industrial complex. Many, many very knowledgeable military people, the ones who don't work as a lobbyists and/or for one of the companies actually stealing the money, say the same thing!

As far as terrorism is concerned ... how difficult would it be for the elements of the Multinational Businesses that are benefiting financially from the wars that Bush set in motion and his "War on Terror", or members of the Right Wing in America for political purposes, for that matter, to identify some unstable guy abroad, put him in a pair of explosive underpants, and send him on a plane ride tot the US in order to keep the Obama Administration locked into their agenda?
