LONDON — Pete Doherty was released Wednesday from a drug treatment order, ending 18 months of court supervision.
Judge Jane McIvor said she's been assured the treatment plan already in place for the 28-year-old rocker would continue.
"There is no need for statutory supervision or state funding," she said in Thames Magistrates Court.
Outside court, Doherty told reporters he intends to stay free of drugs.
"It's just the beginning, you know what I mean. My life has changed," said Doherty, lead singer of Babyshambles.
Doherty, best known as off-on boyfriend of Kate Moss, has admitted possessing crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine, as well as two driving offenses.
