Brazil's currency hits 3-year low
SAO PAULO, Brazil — Brazil's currency has fallen to its lowest point against the dollar in three years.
The real ended the day Thursday at 2.52 to the U.S. dollar, the weakest since May 2, 2005, when it traded at 2.53.
Brazil's currency has lost 58 percent of its value since reaching a high of 1.6 to the dollar in early August.
Investors are pulling money from Brazil and other emerging markets as the global financial crisis prompts interest in more stable investments, such as U.S. bonds.
