Jackson State beats Alabama A&M 62-53
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Jeremy Caldwell scored 14 points to lead Jackson State to a 62-53 win over Alabama A&M on Monday night.
The win snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Tigers (2-12, 1-1 Southwest Athletic Conference). Caldwell also finished with 10 rebounds, and Darrion Griffin added 13 points.
The Bulldogs (3-7, 1-1) were paced by Trant Simpson, who scored 14. Jonathan Inman chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.
After holding a 53-50 lead with 3 minutes remaining in the game, the Tigers finished the game with a 9-3 run for the final margin.
Jackson State outrebounded Alabama A&M 49-42.
The Bulldogs shot 32.2 percent from the field (19-for-59), and was just 1 of 14 from 3-point range.
