GREENVILLE, S.C. — Medical supplies company Span-America Medical Systems Inc. said Wednesday its board of directors approved an 11 percent increase in the company's quarterly dividend to 10 cents.

The dividend is payable Dec. 4 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 20.

Shares of Span-America fell 8 cents to $16.16 in midday trading.
