TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg has left the hospital, six days after being diagnosed with curable lymphoma of the stomach.
Lautenberg's office said the 86-year-old Democrat was discharged Thursday from Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
He will continue to receive chemotherapy treatments.
Spokesman Caley Gray said the senator "feels good and his doctors are encouraged by the progress he is making."
Lautenberg was initially taken to the hospital Feb. 15 after his office said he fell at his home in Cliffside Park.
The following day he was treated for a bleeding ulcer, and it was announced Feb. 19 that the B-cell lymphoma was found in the ulcer.
