Wall Street bounced back Wednesday, recovering from some of Tuesday's big losses. Stocks are still down for the week and for the second quarter, which started last week.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 89.46 points, or 0.7 percent, to 12,805.39.

The Standard & Poor's 500 rose 10.12 points, or 0.7 percent, to 1,368.71.

The Nasdaq composite index rose 25.24 points, or 0.8 percent, to 3,016.46.

For the week:

The Dow is down 254.75 points, or 2 percent.

The S&P 500 is down 29.37 points, or 2.1 percent.

The Nasdaq is down 64.04 points, or 2.1 percent.

For the year:

The Dow is up 587.83 points, or 4.8 percent.

The S&P 500 is up 111.11 points, or 8.8 percent.

The Nasdaq is up 411.31 points, or 15.8 percent.
