Anthony Weiner, the congressman who resigned two years ago in a sexting scandal, is considering running for mayor of New York. Here are some other politicians who have sought second chances after sexual indiscretions.

He resigned as governor of New York in 2008 in a call-girl scandal. He has worked as a commentator for CNN and other media organizations.

As South Carolina governor in 2009, he admitted that he was having an extramarital affair with an Argentine woman and lied about his whereabouts. He recently won a GOP primary for his former congressional seat and is engaged to his onetime mistress.

He won a second term as a Republican senator from Louisiana in 2010, three years after he was identified as a client of a prostitution service in what was dubbed the "DC Madam" scandal.

The Massachusetts congressman's career was almost derailed in 1989 after he admitted to a relationship with a male prostitute. The openly gay politician went on to serve for over two more decades before retiring.

The president was impeached by the House in 1998 but acquitted by the Senate over his relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. He has gone on to post-presidential popularity and involvement in global issues.
