DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Sprint and TNT are giving fans a chance to help their favorite driver earn a little cash for charity.
During the final 30 laps of Saturday night's Sprint Cup race at Daytona International Speedway, Miss Sprint Cup (Kim Coon) will engage fans via Twitter to participate in the (hash)Sprint60 Unlimited – a 60-second race within the race.
Fans will be asked to tweet their favorite driver's number along with the hashtag (hash)Sprint60. TNT will display real-time results, for a minute, on the right side of its broadcast feed.
The engagement is expected to go like this:
_ Sprint will air a 15-second teaser featuring a vague message encouraging viewers to follow (at)MissSprintCup for more details.
_ At some point during the first half of the race, a 30-second commercial will air detailing how the Twitter race will take place.
_ At another point during the final 30 laps, another 30-second spot featuring Miss Sprint Cup will air that will begin the (hash)Sprint60 Unlimited.
Fans are encouraged to tweet as many times as they can during the next 60 seconds. The top five drivers receiving votes via Twitter will be displayed alongside the broadcast.
The winner of the Sprint 60 Unlimited will receive a trophy and a $10,000 donation to the driver's charity of choice.
