THE PROBLEM: Hyundai Santa Fe SUVs from the 2013 model year can suddenly lose power because the right-front axle shaft can fail. The problem could affect 50,000 vehicles.

THE INVESTIGATION: The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in documents Tuesday that it is investigating the SUVs because it received two complaints about the problem. No crashes or injuries were reported, but the owners reported loud noises just before their SUVs stopped moving while they were being driven.

THE SOLUTION: None yet. Investigators will decide if the problem is serious enough to cause a recall.
