BOSTON — People flying into Logan International Airport will now have just one place to go if they need to rent a car.
The Massachusetts Port Authority has unveiled its new $310 million rental car center. Nine rental companies will operate out of the 120,000-square-foot customer service center. There is also a four-level garage.
Starting Wednesday, MassPort will run 28 hybrid buses to and from the center to replace the 100 diesel-powered buses currently operated by individual companies.
Officials say the new shuttle system will be cleaner and also more efficient because it will drop off departing passengers on the upper level and pick up arriving passengers on the lower level. The first stop on the MBTA's blue line shuttle will now be the rental car center.
