BALI, Indonesia — BALI, Indonesia (AP) — APEC officials in Indonesia have revoked credentials of Hong Kong journalists who shouted questions to Philippine President Benigno Aquino III about his refusal to apologize for the killings of Hong Kong tourists in Manila three years ago.
Reporters from Now TV, Radio Television Hong Kong and Commercial Radio were asking Aquino as he walked pass them Sunday if he would meet with the Hong Kong chief executive and apologize to the families of the victims.
Aquino did not reply. APEC officials then confronted the reporters and accused them of ambushing and embarrassing the Philippine president.
According to the APEC organizing committee, the credentials of nine Hong Kong reporters were revoked.
Aquino has expressed regret over the 2010 killings by a dismissed policeman and a botched police rescue but won't apologize.
