American Electric Power Co. rose $.57 or 1.3 percent, to $44.06.

Consolidated Edison Inc. Holding Co. rose $.84 or 1.5 percent, to $56.26.

Dominion Resources Inc. rose $.55 or .9 percent, to $62.16.

Duke Energy Corp. rose $.70 or 1.0 percent, to $67.90.

Exelon rose $.57 or 2.0 percent, to $29.87.

PG&E rose $.50 or 1.2 percent, to $41.15.

Southern Co. rose $.70 or 1.7 percent, to $41.71.
