OLIVER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — DEE Energy Co. says 13 turbines at its Echo Wind Park in Michigan's rural Thumb will begin commercial operation by the end of November.
The power company said Wednesday that the entire 70-turbine complex will begin commercial operation by the end of 2013 and will add 112 megawatts to DTE's renewable power capacity.
The park is mainly in Huron County's Oliver and Chandler townships, about 100 miles north of Detroit.
Echo Wind is DTE Energy's third wind park. The 110-megawatt Thumb Wind Park went into production in last December, and DTE has a stake in the 213-megawatt Gratiot County Wind Park.
DTE says it also plans to buy the energy from the 20-megawatt Turtle Wind Farm in Huron County's Rubicon Township.
