MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Chris Fowler scored a career-high 25 points, to go along with eight assists and three steals, as Central Michigan beat Cal State Northridge 90-76 Saturday night.
Northridge (2-3) jumped out to an early 17-8 lead before Fowler, who made 7 of 14 field goals and 9 of 10 free throws, scored eight points during a 14-0 run by the Chippewas. Central Michigan (3-3) would never trail again.
John Simons added 15 points and eight rebounds for Central Michigan, which made 28 of 50 field goals. Blake Hibbitts and Braylon Rayson scored 10 apiece.
Stephan Hicks paced the Matadors with 22 points. Aaron Parks scored 17 points while Stephen Maxwell had 14 points and seven rebounds.
Northridge out-rebounded the Chippewas 30-24, but committed 16 turnovers and made just 3-of-9 3-point shots. Central Michigan hit 12 of 27 from deep.
