GENEVA (AP) — A group of U.N. independent experts is urging Iraq to identify the whereabouts of seven members of an Iranian dissident group who were allegedly abducted in September.

The Geneva-based panel of human rights experts says it has serious concerns about the lack of information provided by Iraqi authorities, and noted that Iraqi forces have allegedly admitted taking the individuals into custody.

Six women and one man disappeared in a Sept. 1 attack that killed 52 people at a refugee camp in Iraq that once housed 3,000 Iranian exiles.

The U.N.'s Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances said in a statement Monday that Iraq should speed up its probe into the killings at Camp Ashraf, the longtime home for members of the Mujahedeen-e-Khalq, which strongly opposes Iran's clerical regime.
