Igor Cherstich is a social anthropologist based at the School of Oriental and African Studies of London. He has conducted extensive field-work research in Libya, investigating religious trends, politics and tribal dynamics in the country. Between 2006 and 2008 Igor spent fifteen months in Western Libya for an ethnographic research on youth and religiosity. Prior to this, he had been taking part to archaeological surveys in Eastern Libya since 2002.
