Another current series that I’m meaning to get back into but I’m just so distracted by those girls and airplanes right now!

Since 2013 I started working on a new project called ‘Sunville’. ‘Sunville’ is the English translation of the name of my native village ‘Zonhoven’ in Belgium. The photographic series is an in depth research of my personal memories about those specific locations. These photographs are being translated in abstract 3D sculptures as shown in the previous blog. Here is a detail of the original photograph used to create a 3D sculpture.
The Dam, 2013, photomontage, 18 x 12 inches, archival inkjet print. The spark for this piece came from a billboard of Bashar al-Assad and a 19th century engraving of a mountain passageway in Syria. It was in an international exhibit at the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art in October 2013. www.lacda.com www.karenclarkstudio.com
