Modern (And Often Boozy) Takes On Iced Tea

Posted: 06/06/2012 6:04 pm

In between Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, June has its very own reason to celebrate -- it's National Iced Tea Month! Okay, so it's not exactly postage stamp material, but come summertime, iced tea is essential to keeping cool. And while steeping up a batch after batch of summery sun tea still quenches, we've rounded up a handful of cocktail and mocktail recipes that offer decidedly modern takes on the classic cooler. And for even more on iced tea cocktails, click here.

Y'all can keep your 'white tea sangria'. That is NOT iced tea. I live in south Mississippi, and I know iced tea...sweet tea. The BEST!!!

You want an amazing iced tea ? Start with something called simple-syrup. You make this with one cup of sugar and one cup of boiling water. Simply add the boiling water to the sugar in a 24 ounce measuring cup and stir. Brew your tea, add some of it to a heat-proof tall glass. Pour in some of the simply-syrup, more if you like it sweet, less if not so sweet. Add ice cubes and 2 ounces of milk. Stir. Enjoy. Is like iced coffee only much more comforting....Alfred-
