CBS News Pick Claimed Democrats are Bad People

?>

Today, I learned that CBS News named Jeff Ballabon, a New York Republican activist, to serve as the Senior Vice President of Communications.

What is CBS thinking? This guy is very far out there with his partisan rhetoric.

A decade ago, I debated Ballabon in New York. I represented the Democratic Jewish community while he spoke on behalf of Republican Jews. During the debate, Ballabon claimed that, after his most recent job in Washington, he became convinced that Democrats are inherently bad people and Republicans are fundamentally good people.

What planet does this guy come from? It's astonishing that CBS News would name Ballabon to its senior management.

In fact, it is not atypical of Ballabon to use this kind of extreme partisan rhetoric. During the 2008 election, Ballabon said, "Obama is incredibly dangerous."

During the 2004 elections, JTA reported, "AIPAC has touted this election [in 2004] as a 'win-win' proposition, noting Bush's strong support for Israel and Kerry's 100 percent pro-Israel voting record in the Senate." In response, Ballabon wrote, "Bush and Kerry 'win-win?' Republicans and Democrats indistinguishable? It would be funny if Jews weren't being killed."

Ironically, Ballabon told JTA, following his new CBS News appointment, that he "always worked well with Democrats and Republicans."

The website of the Ballabon Group, where Ballabon serves as President, quotes a satisfied client saying, "When Jeff Ballabon tells you he can do something, consider it done."

Maybe Ballabon can get "it done," but perhaps CBS News can get "it done" more effectively by paying more attention when vetting its senior executives.

Who's Bad?

A few years ago in the vernacular of the teenagers BAD meant super good. I'll go with that concept
as it applies to Obama.

I sent an email to decry this appointment. Found the link to CBS on this string and chose NIghtly News.
I have seen many others that have done the same. We should just not let these things go by.

Want more consistent media bias check out Yahoo News
they feed you Fox News and Sean Hannity and claim they are trying to represent all points of view.
Seen on Sean Hannity via Yahoo News “Obama is on course to become as unsuccessful as FDR (who got reelected how many times?) Hannity’s partner in this video folly was Mike Huckabee of Arkansas whose credentials as a Depression era historian are in keeping with the high journalistic standards of FOX News and News Corp. Way to go Rupert.

And yet another example of our 'news' sources being nothing more than biased platforms for Red or Blue politics. Is there any news organization that has any journalistic integrity left. If there is, I am not aware of it.

We are a very polarized nation right now. At a time it is critical that we can all find some common ground.

I stopped watching CBS news a long time ago, and don't see a return anytime soon.

H.oly C.rap. Just when you thought you'd heard it all. Republicans inherently good people? Are you kdding me? I cannot believe that he can look at himself in the mirror. This party brought you:

Trillion $ deficit
Torture
Limitiation of Constitutional Rights
Trumped up War in Iraq
Outing of a CIA agent
Politicizing of the District Attorneys offices
Hurricane Katrina disaster without any assistance to its citizens
More hatred for America--the most in our nation's history
George W Bush
Dick Cheney
Donald Rumsfeld
Non-existent environmental policy
largest expansion of the lower class poor (more people in poverty)

The list goes on and on and on....and they are the nice ones? They are the M O S T hateful people on earth. Interesting how he should have such a distorted view of the world. Perhaps he's on something to convince himself that this is true? The nation doesn't see Obama as evil or dangerous or else his approval rating wouldn't be between 68-72 %...

This is just another case of a Republican saying something hoping that if he says it enough they will believe it.

Amen to you sister. Do you know what is so scary this man Ballabon and the Chairman of the RNC are terrified that the American people are going to stand up for their democratic rights - you had better believe it. You good people have now got back your freedom under President Obama, praise the Lord. So you condemn them both as often as you can and see how frightened they will become from the pressure of good overcoming evil. Just remember the power is in the hands of the people, not the Ballabons of this world.

The behavior of the GOP and their media minions clearly demonstrate they don't give a hoot anyone except their own little club of white collar criminals. Where is their much touted patriotism when our nation is at risk economically? Where was it when they made this mess?
It's crystal clear that they would rather see their country flat on its back than lift a finger to fix what they broke.

I don't watch "America's favorite network" (which is a joke) at all EXCEPT for the Masters in Arpil.

Otherwise, the CBS doesn't have anything to offer me that I enjoy.

Just look at the football offerings - oops, they don't have any.

As an endnote, this guy won't last.

Mr Forman,
Can you please draft a protest letter to CBS? I'm sure you'll get thousands of signatures in support of removing this man. I'll be the FIRST to sign. This is outrageous!

Don't you just love an un-biased news outlet?

Anyone know where we can find one?

Letterman ongoing and the addition of Laurence Fishburne to the CSI enterprise are the only positive notes coming from that instrument of mediocrity that has become CBS.

It doesn't surprise me that management has added yet another hack to the payroll.

The power at the top is too concentrated...but we all know that. Something like 4 media giants own practically everything...so this comes as no surprise. Perhaps it's a plotted move, as in, we have a Democratic majority in government, so we'll counteract that majority with a more "conservative" media. I don't know. The media became so cowed during the Bush years. The conservatives keep calling it the Liberal Media to push it the other way...an old ploy. To be honest, I'm not sure what we have anymore. It's sort of like the CNN-Enquirer. News mixed with gossip and conjecture. So does it even matter?
