Isabelle Davis was born and raised in the city of Chicago, growing up on a steady diet of Motown and Blue Note jazz. In 2005, she enrolled at Emerson College in Boston where she began working at WERS 88.9FM, pursuing her two loves, music journalism and radio DJing. Her passion for music has always been the driving force behind her experiences as a writer, editor and radio host, and her work has appeared in Boston's Weekly Dig, Time Out Chicago, Da Capo Press' Best Music Writing 2010 and Two Day Old Shit, the music blog she has co-run since 2008. She currently helps head up the programming department at BBOX Radio in downtown Brooklyn, and every week you can find her there playing the best in soul, R&B, funk and disco during her program, “The Soul Glow.” Isabelle enjoys shopping for vinyl and YouTubing mid-’90s music videos. She recently saw Sade in concert and cried, four times.
