Iva Fattorini
Iva Fattorini is chair of the Global Arts and Medicine Institute at Cleveland Clinic, where she was formerly executive director and director of international e-health. She lives in Abu Dhabi, UAE, building an international arts and medicine global landscape and expanding programs for the institute. Fattorini is founder of Artocene, whose mission is to connect arts with health on a global level. Previously, she was a visiting physician at Virginia Mason Medical Center and University of Washington in Seattle. Earlier in her career, she served as director of the laser center at the University Hospital in Zagreb.

As a doctor who devoted professional life to integration of arts with medicine, I am often being asked, "Why do we need arts in medicine?" and, "Why would we spend money on arts instead of more important things?"
