Forget it. John McCain's transparent ploy to stall the rising Obama campaign should be firmly rejected. Instead of returning to Washington, Obama should remain on the hustings and emphasize that he's not going to be party to a back room deal to bail out Wall Street bankers. Sure, some agreement will and should be reached to save everyone else from the machinations of Wall Street's predators who ended up devouring themselves. But Obama can press his case more effectively outside of Washington rather than inside it.
As is his wont, McCain is grandstanding. Neither he nor Obama are the prime movers in the Senate on the issue of a bailout. Their job is to fight for the presidency, and it's one that Obama is winning right now. For Obama there is no moment like the present to press his case on the economy. In short, it's no time for a time out.

hey.....do any of you remember when your kids would puff up and refuse to eat until you let them watch tv? or try to hold their breath until you gave them ice cream? or refuse to do anything that would actually be in their favor unless you caved to their silly demands?
sound familiar? thought so.
What happened to Rick Davis who is paid just to have ACCESS to John McCain? The companies paying him are gonna sue for non-access ... is he in hiding with Carly and Phil Gramm?
When would be a better time to let the American people know of your plan for their future, then NOW, at this debate? I would think McCain would want to reassure us all of his great plan to get us out of the messes we're in, or does he just expect us to vote him in and he'll tell us later?

GAME ON
for, that is what Sen. McCain's last minute "rescue mission" to DC brings to mind.
Let's not force the same wasteful economics that we all endure now on the nice folks at Ole Miss -- they have spent many millions in order to roll out a proper red carpet for the first debate. Call Sen. McCain out on his tail-tucked retreat --- McCain's hot-air rhetoric, of wanting to face off with Senator Obama all along, is proving as cheap as a pair of rose-colored rubber flip-flops.
How many times do you think Obama will ask John if he needs a "time out" during the debate?
The Obama campaign should repeat the title of this article over and over and over and over...... ....

This is no time for a time out.
This an excellent example of the McCain wasting of money. The cost of this debate is $5.5 million whether he shows or not. How long a bridge is that?
John McCain- no leg left to stand on.

McCain wants a "timeout"?
Don't you mean he is "Cutting And Running" from the debate??

The Republicans are the party that wrecked America... ..McCain-P alin have nowhere to go now but down, and I will tell you exactly how this will happen. They can run away from President Bush, but they can't run away from the Republican Party. The Republicans will be regarded from now on as "the party that wrecked America." Over the weeks ahead, as carnage in the economy and the financial markets ramps up, it will become increasingly clear. It is important that this meme be spread through the internet. I urge all commentators to adopt and spread the idea that the Republicans are "the party that wrecked America." It will work because it is the truth. Use it freely. Just spread the word. Get the meme going.
He clearly isn't suspending his campaign today (9/25) either, as I just saw his "Foundation" ad on TV on NBC.
Person after person comes on TV and says this was caused by "unfettered Capitalism " when in reality it was caused by "unfettered Big Government interference and corruption "!
MCCAIN/PALIN 2008
You're joking.
You really want to elect someone who has less experience and education than our CURRENT president?
That would be the Bush Government ...

Yesterday, after McCain said he was suspending his campaign McCain attended a campaign fundraiser. McCain also made a TV appearance with Couric.
Today at the Global Initiative Forum McCain made a presidential campaign speech.
McCain talked about what he would do when he is elected president.
When is the suspension of McCain’s campaign going to occur?
McCain's fake campaign suspension just makes him look like a liar and hypocrite, a weak, scared, desperate say anything, do anything liar and hypocrite.
McCain has been asleep at the wheel on economic issues for 26 years. 8 of those years he was pushing through the republican party's flawed "let government stay out of business" deregulation policies and the republicans idiotic "trickle down tax cut policy."
Palin could not come up with anything substantive that McCain had done which would have prevented the crisis on Wall Street.
McCain is good at is pulling the POW guilt trip he did it circuitously this morning in his first paragraphs “My friends … as an old navy pilot I can tell you…”
McCain fails to mention the 5 navy planes he trashed – which any other pilot would have been stripped of his wings if they had such a crappy record. No one says it but based upon McCain’s standing at the bottom of his class in the naval academy he should never been given wings.
I've read McCain didn't show much aptitude as a pilot. The only reason he was still flying after crashing four planes was his status as an admiral's son. I'm guessing that's also the reason he was admitted to Annapolis. And an admiral's son just couldn't flunk out of Annapolis. His life story, while certainly more heroic after losing the fifth plane, shows the same familial benefits as the Current Occupant. It's always good to have a powerful daddy.
