Palin's Body of Lies
Sarah Palin's credibility, never her strong-suit, has suffered a fresh blow with the release of the 263-page Alaskan lawmakers' report detailing her body of lies. The report shows unequivocally that Palin has been fibbing about her unrelenting efforts to derail the career of her former brother-in-law. The best defense that the GOP could probably mount is to argue that it is precisely the qualities Palin has displayed in hounding her ex-relative -- vindictiveness and sheer nastiness -- that are the very qualities that would, should she ascend to the presidency itself, allow her to acquit herself well in staring down the world's bad guys. But no doubt many conservatives will argue that the report itself is biased (any document or article that reaches a conclusion that conservatives don't like now constitutes "bias") and being pumped up by a liberal media elite intent on blemishing the GOP's Alaskan beauty queen.
The truth is, however, that Palin's behavior in her Troopergate affair was not an aberration. It is of a piece with her behavior on the campaign trail, where she has demagogically been whipping up a climate of hatred toward Barack Obama. Palin is a serial abuser and Obama her latest target.
This is scary stuff. John McCain has belatedly made a few moves toward backing off from Palin's vitriol, calling Obama a "decent" man. Big deal. It's McCain who has behaved indecently. He is on course to lose not only the election, but also whatever remains of his reputation.

I read the entire 263 page decision (what wasn't taken out for confidentiality). The thing that struck me even more than the fact that Sarah Palin has been lying through her lipstick, but the role Todd Palin played in the whole affair. Doesn't this guy have a job? What the hell is he doing sitting in on the Governor's staff meetings? Why is the Governor's staff setting up meetings with the "first dude" and members of her cabinet? It is scary how much influence he obviously has on her. When I go to work, my husband goes to work. Period. I may seek his advice, but I don't take meetings with him and my staff.

What a legacy
The bottomline with McCain and Palin is that it is completely obvious that McCain is merely a stepping stone for Palin. Remember sometime after her debate as she was boarding a bus or something she actually told the press that she was the new face of the Party and the new energy. If McCain wins, he better have a food taster around.
This woman is the new face alright, the face of cold blooded ambition. I have said this before, but she clearly enjoys with relish being 'truthful' as she calls her rants and attacks against others. Her nickname is completely apropos; barracudas are cold blooded predator fish are they not? McCain better watch his back. The slimey GOP will put her up again for the next run if McCain loses and she will betray him in the end as she has betrayed every mentor in her past. She is despicable.
God help us all if they win. God please protect Obama whatever happens from the inciteful hate speech that Palin revels in projecting to racist, ignorant, low information people. I think that it is so sad that the GOP has such a preponderance of racists and bigots.
Sing it sister! I think you are right on the money. She is a cold blooded predator! Funny, I said the same thing last week about McCain needing to hire a food tester with Palin around. She wants to "learn the ropes" as VP and move onto the Oval Office as her favorite VP, George Bush Sr. did. She's a scarey piece of work "that one."
I reember hearing/reading it somewhere that she said she wants to be the next President. Apparently she said this sometime back - I guess during the times of the witch hunter. I think that for her, this is divine intervention and that she was meant to be President and that she surely will. One problem. God anointed Barack Hussein Obama this year, and no sticks and stones and indeed words - will break him.
This was reported by an associate way back in 1996 when Sarah first became mayor of Wasilla . . . the associate said something like, Sarah, in ten years you could be governor and Sarah said, I want to be President . . .
Concerning the lies: At the Republican National Convention, John McCain proclaimed for all the world to hear: She sold the governor's jet on E-Bay and made a profit.
There are only two explanations for that lie. Either she lied to him. Or he lied to us.
This one is so simple, so blatant, nothing suble about it. You don't even have to dig. Why hasn't anyone pressed either of them about it?
He lied. She was for once careful to say only that she put the jet on e-Bay, said nothing about selling it. On the other hand, she claimed she told Congress thanks but no thanks.
Republicans, you should insist that your republican leaders replace Palin with a more thoughtful, intelligent vice presidential candidate for the sake of your party.

I watched as Palin and her family first stepped on the "national stage" as John McCain announced she would be his running mate. I felt in my gut that something wasn't right. I watched with especial interest in her older daughter clutching her mother's infant. I wondered why the father didn't hold their baby. We found out later they were trying to cover up the daughter's pregnancy. This wasn't to protect the daughter it was to keep from embarrassing the mother.. It was deceit of the most cynical kind. Since those first moments in front of America she has worked to deceive. That was only the first lie.
This is more of the same.... What I find amazing.... With a six month old... fifth child... when she holds this child she does not cradle it like a mother..... the daughter does. Palin holds the child like a stranger.

What scares me is the way they are stirring up the bigots and crazies out there. With Obama and Biden winning this election, these crazies are still going to be out there, nursing the grudges that McCain and Palin played to and that will make a dangerous climate for all of us in this country. I never could understand the far-rights hatred of Bill Clinton and look how they dogged him with that hatred. What McCain and Palin are doing is even worse.
I totally agree. I said at the time that I'd never seen one party continue to assault the President after the election was over...and I was a Republican at the time. That he finally gave them something to use is beside the point...the Republican party has been out of control for a long time. I think they are totally in the pocket of big business and are terrified of losing control. They're not done ruining the country yet. (I am now a Democrat and proud of it)
I agree too. Obama will need to be a president to McCain supporters as well as Obama supporter, Nadar, McKinnley and Barr. I am not worried about the later four but the Palin/Mac supporters are another thing. I agree that this slandereous behavior is terribly worrisome. Mac has lost track of his himself trying to win this election and Palin is just plan dishonest and mean it seems. Palin especially doesn't understand the consequences of her behavior or maybe she just doesn't care.

Isn't McCain supposed to be an expert in foreign policy. How can he not see the far reaching consequences of his tactics. If Americans are shouting out things like kill him, what are the real terrorists feeling.
If he becomes president, how is he going to deal effectively with these people he has demonized?
The Palin's attempts to get Mike Wooten fired was an obsession especially for Todd. The Wooten investigation had been over for 21/2 years before she took office. I find it very disturbing that someone would spend this much of their lives engaging in this behavior. Isn't obsession a mental disorder?
To engage in this witchhunt while she was governor of AK, while not illegal - it is shameful.
