Jacob S. Hacker is Professor of Political Science at Yale University and a Fellow at the New America Foundation. He is the author, most recently, of The Great Risk Shift: The Assault on American Jobs, Families, Health Care, and Retirement—And How You Can Fight Back. His 1997 book, The Road to Nowhere, analyzed the rise and fall of President Bill Clinton’s health plan. Earlier this year, he released a proposal for universal health care entitled “Health Care for America” as part of the Economic Policy Institute’s Agenda for Shared Prosperity.
